Jesus Explains How He Is Our Shepherd

John 10:1-5 (easy to read version)
1 Jesus said, “It is certainly true that when a man enters the sheep pen, he should use the gate. If he climbs in some other way, he is a robber. He is trying to steal the sheep. 2 But the man who takes care of the sheep enters through the gate. He is the shepherd. 3 The man who guards the gate opens the gate for the shepherd. And the sheep listen to the voice of the shepherd. He calls his own sheep, using their names, and he leads them out. 4 He brings all of his sheep out. Then he goes ahead of them and leads them. The sheep follow him, because they know his voice. 5 But sheep will never follow someone they don’t know. They will run away from him, because they don’t know his voice.”

John 10: 7-13 (easy to read version)
7 So Jesus said again, “I assure you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All those who came before me were thieves and robbers. The sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved. They will be able to come in and go out. They will find everything they need. 10 A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came to give life—life that is full and good.
11 “I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. 12 The worker who is paid to keep the sheep is different from the shepherd. The paid worker does not own the sheep. So when he sees a wolf coming, he runs away and leaves the sheep alone. Then the wolf attacks the sheep and scatters them. 13 The man runs away because he is only a paid worker. He does not really care for the sheep.

Belief In Christ Is More Than A Belief - It Is A Way of Life

Colossians 2:6-7 (Good News Bible):  Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with Him.  Keep your roots deep in Him, build your lives on Him, and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught.  And be filled with thanksgiving.

The Lord Is Waiting To Be Merciful To You (Isaiah 30:18)

(Isaiah 30:15-18)  The Sovereign Lord, the holy One of Israel, says to the people, "Come back and quietly trust in me.  Then you will be strong and secure."  But you refuse to do it.  Instead, you plan to escape from your enemies by riding fast horses.  And you are right - escape is what you will have to do!...And yet the Lord is waiting to be merciful to you.   He is ready to take pity on you because He always does what is right.   Happy are those who put their trust in the Lord.

God Is Love

(1 Corinthians: 4-8) Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil; but is happy with the truth.  Love never gives up; and its faith, hope and patience never fail.

(1 Corinthians: 13-13) Meanwhile these three remain:  faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.

How Deep Is His Love....

(Happy Valentine's Day) what I've learned from the Bible, is this:   there is no sin so great that could ever keep you from being able to go to God for His love and forgiveness.  He died for ALL sins: past, present and future.  You can always return to Him no matter what.  He welcomes you with open, loving arms.  In fact, He is waiting for you.  He will wait for all Eternity for you, if He has to.  That's how much He loves you.  That's the Glory of God.

(Revelations 3:20) "Listen! I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into his house and eat with him, and he will eat with Me."

I Will Help You

Good News Bible (Isaiah 41:13) "I am the Lord your God; I strengthen you and tell you, 'Do not be afraid; I will help you'."

Jesus is the Word (Who He is)

Good News Bible(John 1:1-5) Before the world was created, the Word already existed: He was with God, and He was the same as God. From the very beginning the Word was with God. Through Him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without Him. The Word was the source of life, and this life brought Light to mankind. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out.

SO I TELL YOU NOT TO WORRY. (Luke 12:22)

(Good News Bible) Luke 12:22-31 -- Then Jesus said to the disciples, "And so I tell you not to worry about the food you need to stay alive or about the clothes you need for your body. Life is much more important than food, and the body much more important than clothes. Look at the crows: they don't plant seeds or gather harvest; they don't have storage rooms or barns; God feeds them! You are worth so much more than birds! Can any of you live a bit longer by worrying about it? If you can't manage even such a small thing, why worry about the other things? Look how the wild flowers grow: they don't work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers. It is God who clothes the wild grass - grass that is here today and gone tomorrow, burned up in the oven. Won't He be all the more sure to clothe you? What little faith you have! So don't be all upset, always concerned about what you will eat and drink. (For the pagans of this world are always concerned about all these things.) Your Father knows that you need these things. Instead, be concerned with His Kingdom, and He will provide you with these things.

I am rejoicing with the urge to create this blogger, "Know Jesus, Know God"!

Luke 10:21-22 --  Jesus Rejoices  (Good News Bible) At that time Jesus was filled with joy by the Holy Spirit and said, "Father, Lord of Heaven and earth.  I thank you because you have shown to the unlearned what you have hidden from the wise and learned.  Yes, Father, this was how you were pleased to have it happen.

My Father has given me all things. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the SON CHOOSES TO REVEAL HIM.

I plan to post daily scripture that leaps out at me when I read it in hopes it will be a source of inspiration and comfort to anyone else who reads them.  God bless you!
